Playful Living- The Sea Otter

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to write about today, so I asked the Animal Guides & received a timely message from the Sea Otter: Our focus is Joy. You’re asked to be the master of playful living. Release expectations and enjoy every day. Let worry go and instead choose love. Surrender to the waves.

The playful Sea Otter is calling to you now; urging you to ask: how can I live my life more joyfully? What little ways can I incorporate more fun into my life? How can I get comfortable going with the flow, even when I can’t see what’s ahead?

I really love that the Sea Otter asks us to choose love over worry or fear because it’s great advice for manifesting. And it’s easy to forget- but, every emotion has a vibrational frequency and, as you can tell from how they all feel, some are higher vibrational than others. (Fear = super LOW, Love = super HIGH). When you can allow yourself to prioritize play and fun, you are automatically vibrating at a higher frequency, which will attract more, higher frequency goodness into your field. A lot of folks get stuck in manifesting because there’s a false thought that we’ll raise our frequency once we have the thing (achieve the goal, whatever). But the secret is that you have to raise your frequency FIRST, so that you are in a vibrational space to ALLOW the thing. Otherwise, we’re just energetically pushing away the thing we want to create.

Being the master of playful living is less about only doing things you love and more about loving the things you do. It’s about shifting your perspective, the lens through which you view the world. It’s not about being joyful because everything is going great; it’s about being joyful regardless of what’s going on around you. It’s choosing to come from power and decide you’re going to be

happy no matter what (happiness from the inside) instead of what most people do by default: deciding you’ll be happy when…[insert all of the things we tell ourselves we need before we’re happy] (happiness from the outside).

Living playfully is about finding a way to love doing the dishes and folding the laundry- with aligning with the joyous end result- the having of the tidy house. How it FEELS when the chores are done. It’s about changing our relationship with the task at hand to find joy despite the fact that the task needs to be done.

If you aren’t sure what to do right now, or where you’re going, pause and have a little fun. If you’re feeling stuck, chances are you’ve been stressing and focusing on a “problem” or “challenge”. Gripping it (or constantly rolling it around in your mental/emotional/or spiritual body) is not going to allow you to find the solution to it. The best thing to give your subconscious the ability to find an answer is to first: write it all out so you can empty your head, and then: go do something you consider fun and playful.

While you’re focused on having fun, you’re aligning yourself with your desires to allow the universe (which is always working FOR us) to work out the details. If you have old patterns like I had, you may have to spend some time repatterning beliefs. It took me a long time to understand that FUN isn’t counter-productive, bad, or lazy; it’s actually an essential component to creation. Besides, I don’t think life is supposed to always be crappy and hard. I think it’s SUPPOSED to be fun with some crappy stuff thrown in for contrast & appreciation. But either way, we can always choose to find our way back to love and joy.

If you could use some help with lifting your vibration into happiness and joy, I recommend The Book of Joy by The Dalai Lama & Desmond Tutu. And I particularly love this one on audible. I also think Shawn Acor’s The Happiness Advantage is a great read for boosting your frequency. And if you need some one-on-one help for getting unstuck, I’m now accepting new Healing & Coaching clients. Message me for details.

Love & Light,

Carly
